Inherit, in the zone is prescribed to those of us who want to succeed at a rate that is satisficing to us.
I myself have tried a couple methods, taking breaks whenever I feel lost from focus. Put on some music, or like in the move Hero 6, look for a new angle.

While at a meet up, we had a really great speaker talking about how to stay or accomplish being in the “zone”. Similar to the concept with which Larry Bird did in athletics, in some ways time slows down for us when we are in the zone, we become unstoppable.
We’ll allow Doc Rivers to tell the story:
“Bird got in the zone and he started calling the shots, he started saying “off the glass”, that was the one game I think he tortured Dominique.
“He saw Dominique as this up and coming player and he just tortured him, mentally. He tortured all of us, he was calling shots,”off the glass” “who’s next”, “where you want this one from” and he just made one after another. When he got to about the 55th point you knew it was something special.”

Now, not all of us are a well experienced basketball players, though when someone is in the zone, it’s fun and quite something special to watch. If we could only apply this to technology and innovation, imagine the needless testing that would be removed. Things would just work the first try!
When an idea is born, there is usually no stopping it. A idea may form from some inspiration or intuition about something. Though it can often be blocked by are inability to think outside the box. Easier said then done though. Some of this requires a little bit of suspension of disbelief, hence, without a omnipresent like focus how would of Einstein come up with the Theory of Relatively?
Usually, in the most desperate moments, we seem to excel and form ideas or paths that are different then usual and I believe this truly depends on our ability to focus. Underdogs are well know for making it through desperate situations like this. I recommend reading Malcolm Gladwell’s book David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants to learn more on this topic.
View this video on TED talks, about Malcolm Gladwell’s unheard story of David and Goliath for more inspiration.
Though to close on the main point. Do not give up. Seek or look for a different angle! You might surprise yourself.
